We have also been looking at concrete poems. These have the poem written around a picture of the poem's subject. Here are our concrete poems:

Calligrams

We have been looking at calligrams and making our own. Calligrams are poems that use either the letters from the word to make a picture of the word or a font that looks like the word. Although calligrams are a type of poetry most of our class think they are more art than poetry!

A great website for doubling numbers up to 100. The number is presented using place value cards showing the number made up of 10s and 1s. There are also abacuses at the top of the screen showing two lots of 10s and 1s. These can be counted to help calculate the double:
